Spring Grove/Richmond Community Guide
Community Overview
Spring Grove is a village of about 1400 65 miles northwest of downtown Chicago in the Chain O'Lakes region. Neighboring Richmond has a population of about 1000. Recreational opportunities include the numerous lakes in the areas and the facilities surrounding them. Grade school-aged children attend district 11 (Richmond), or 13 (Spring Grove) schools, while secondary students go to Richmond-Burton High School, district 157. (See below for details on schools).
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-294/Tri-State Tollway), and major local roads (I-173/Rosecrans Rd., I-83, U.S. 45). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra in Fox Lake.
