Community Overview
Oswego is a village of about 4,000 40 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. The Oswegoland and Fox Valley Park Districts provide extensive recreational opportunities, and the proximity of the Fox River provides for leisure activities as well. School children attend unit district 308 schools (K-12th. grades). *See below for details on schools.
Transportation needs are served by area highways, primarily the East-West Tollway (I-88), and major local roads (Rte. 34 -Ogden Ave., Routes 25, and 31). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra on the Burlington Northern (BN) line in Aurora. Express service to downtown takes about 50 minutes. Local bus service is available from PACE.
