Hickory Hills Community Guide

Community Overview

Hickory Hills is a village of about 13,000 19 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. Recreational Opportunities include the programs of the Park District, with emphasis on youth and senior citizen programming. Most grade school children attend district 117, the remainder go to district 109 schools. Most secondary students go to Alonzo Stagg High School, district 230, with the rest served by district 217.*See below for details on schools.

Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-294/Tri-State Tollway, I-55/Stevenson Expwy.), and major local roads (Harlem Ave., 95th. St., Rt. 45., 79th. St.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra's Heritage Corridor Line (HC) in Willow Springs. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 30 minutes (express).
