Evergreen Park Community Guide

Community Overview

Evergreen Park is a village of about 21,000 17 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. Evergreen Park has a large commercial district as well as extensive single family residential development. The town has an active Park District and a Public Library. Schoolchildren attend elementary district 124 schools, and go on to Evergreen Park High School (district 231). A number of parochial schools also are within the town borders. (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-94/Dan Ryan Expwy.), and major local roads (Western Ave., 95th. St., Pulaski Rd.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra's Norfolk & Western Southern Line (NS) in Oak Lawn. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 41 minutes.
