Countryside Community Guide
Community Overview
Countryside is a village of about 5,700 14 miles west of downtown Chicago. While primarily residential it has a large shopping district. Recreational opportunities include the area parks, as well as Park District programs in neighboring LaGrange. Grade-school-aged children attend district 105, 106 and 107 schools. Secondary students go to Lyons Township High Schools, district 204. (See below for details on schools).
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-55/Stevenson Expwy., I-290/Eisenhower Expwy.), and major local roads (U.S. 20). Commuter service to downtown is provided by the Burlington Northern Line (BN) in LaGrange. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 20 minutes (express).
