NOQ
Friendship Stars
The basic rules for the swap are to make a friendship
star and mail it out to another swapper. this is a one on one swap, meaning you mail out each star to
each swapper. This swap is only open to NOQers. http://www.noqers.org/ Use dark or medium fabrics where the pattern is dark and light fabrics for the light. The star must be 9" finished size and 9 1/2" unfinished. The colors can be 2 or three if you want, but as long as it has a dark star, light background and dark triangles in the corners. It is up to you what color you pick. Do try to have a good quality fabric in your stars, at least what you can afford, I dont expect you to be using $20 a metre fabric (and thimbleberris fabric here costs that much) but if you want to no one is going to say no to your star :) but do send a star that you would be happy to recieve back. A great way to do these stars is to use half square triangle papers. You can print these out at this url: I have 20 swappers on the current swap list, as soon as I get your address, I'll send it out to them and send you a list of the swappers. you then cross off those you may already have swapped with and make stars and mail them out for the others. I will be updating that list once a month and it is suggested you make your stars and send them out as soon as you can. I have suggested a date of March 2001 to have all your stars finished and sent, Although this is an ongoing swap and a few of us do get behind. I do suggest you start now making a few, even try aiming for a few a week. Any other questions please ask One word of warning, this is an internet swap, and not to discourage any new swappers, but there are risks inherrent in any swap, we all hope to get a star back for every one we send, but sometimes things dont work out for what ever reason. Treasure every star you recieve, the sender did her best to make it and send it, and we all have to learn somewhere. On the positive side I have recieved some fantastic stars, fabric and made some great friendships along the way. Which is what it is all about. Some examples of Stars I have recieved |
