What would you do with the rest of your life if this were your last year? 
Where were you born? Where did you spend Sunday mornings when you were growing up? How many good deeds do you do on daily basis?
Disregard the above questions. They have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with salvation. You aren't a Christian because you go to church...just like you aren't a hamburger because you go to a hamburger joint.
Even if God graded our qualification to get into heaven on a point system, we would never get enough points. He grants our entrance into heaven based on a "FREE GIFT"
John 3:16; John 1:7 - Admit you're a sinner (ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;Rom 3:23)
To start with, here is a basic fact: God LOVES You.
"For God so loved the world, the He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
However, we all have a problem. We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Rom 3:23)
What do I do?. Turn away from your sin.
"For I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentence". (Matt 9:30)
and accept God's ONLY PLAN for sin.
- Believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that Jesus took our rightful place on the cross, as all of our sins were placed on Him. It is Christ's love, and not the nails, that held Him on Calvary's cross. Faith in the shed blood of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the Cross with His arms open wide. It is sometimes asked of Jesus; "How much do You love me?" He, Jesus, holds His arms open wide. His love is immeasurable.2 Cor 5:21
- Confess your sins and call on the name of the Lord for salvation. Rom 10:13 promises salvation for all who call on His name. Rom 10:9-10 and Acts 4:12 for added assurance.
Now believe in Jesus Christ as Your Personal Savior, by praying a simple prayer: "Dear Jesus, Thank you for loving me in spite of my sin. Thank you for dying for me so that I could become a member of the Family of God. I now turn from sin and turn to You for salvation. Amen." If you have prayed this prayer and meant it in your heart, you have passed from death unto LIFE. (Let us rejoice with you.
