KINGSTON VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY NO. 1
Kingston, New
Jersey

A Message From Our Chief
Hi, I am Chief George T. Luck Jr. and want to thank you for stopping by our
site.
Founded in 1924 our all volunteer department is comprised of more than 60 members,
of which over 25 are still active firefighters. All our firefighters are trained
according to NFPA standards through County Fire Schools, and have achieved minimum
certification of Firefighter I by the State of New Jersey.
Our primary service area is the Village of Kingston. This small village is
approximately 5 square miles and divided into two different townships (South
Brunswick and Franklin) and two different counties (Middlesex and Somerset). In
addition we provide mutual-aid service to our surrounding neighbors in Mercer,
Middlesex and Somerset Counties.
Operating out of a single station, which is located at 6 Heathcote Road in
Kingston, New Jersey, our apparatus list includes three engines, one Rescue, two
Command Vehicles, one Utility, and one Boat.
- Engine #3 is a 1992 K.M.E. with a 1750-g.p.m. pump, 750 gallons of
water, 40 gallons of AFFF foam, and carries 2000 ft. of Four inch supply hose.
- Engine #4 is a 2003 K.M.E. with a 1750-g.p.m. pump, 750 gallons of
water, 40 gallons of AFFF foam, and carries 1000 ft. of Five inch supply hose.
- Engine #5 is a 1982 Hahn with a 1250-g.p.m. pump, 750 gallons of
water, and carries 1500 ft. of Four inch supply hose.
- Rescue #2 is a 1989 GMC-Saulsbury and has a
12,500 watt generator for providing lights, an air cascade system for refilling
air bottles, and extrication equipment ("Jaws of Life") for vehicle rescues.
- Our Command Vehicles are a 2000 Ford Expedition Chief's
Vehicle, and a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria Assistant Chief's Vehicle.
- A 2001 Ford F-350 Crewcab Pick-up serves as our Utility Vehicle.
- Our boat is a 1989 Spectrum 15' Aluminum Rescue Boat with an outboard motor.
- We also have Engine #1. A 1939 Ward LaFrance Antique Engine with a 500-g.p.m.
pump and 250 gallons of water. It is the pride of the Company.
Again thanks for visiting us here on the WEB and feel free to stop by our station
and say hello.
