I was browsing, looking for info. on my fathers given name, Edward George Swanson. His mother, Lillian Rockow divored Edward when my father was two. Lillian met and married, years later, Earl Copeland (my madien name) and they changed my fathers name to G orge Edward Copeland. My father was born in Ill. in 1929. My father married my mother, Beverly Joyce Stevens (also from Ill.) in 1949 had two children (Glenn and Linda) in Ill. and then moved to Calif. and had two more(Jeff and Donna).

I enjoyed looking at your web-site. I am looking for information on my GGgrandfather, John Swanson, who married Rhahab Lankford in Williamson Co., TN in 1822. Edward Swanson was a bondsman for John. Both John and Rhahab were born in N.C. John was born about 1797 and Rhahab was born in 1795. Later they moved to the Dalton, Georgia area and both died there.

I am just beginning to search my roots. I am from the Holbert family of Western NC. My dad is the son of Arthur Holbert and Annie Laurie Johnson. My father's grandfather was Will Holbert who was married to Lulie Corn. I have 2 Holbert uncles in Asheville, one Holbert aunt died 10 years ago. Didn't see any Swanson or Svenssens that might be related. My great great grandfather Nils Svenssen married to Elisabith Graeco. His son Johann Nils Svenssen married to Jenny F. Mattison. There son Otto Herman Svenssen. They came to Canada ST. John N.B. o Mar. 27,1911. With daughters Elly O.M., Elly L.,Emmy. Sons Ivar,Otto Herman,Yngve and Nils. There destination was Fort William Ont. Saw your site while beginning to look for my family Setzer. I was born in Lenoir & worked for Broyhill Main Office almost 30 years ago now. Now I am married and live in Central WV as a Pastor's wife. Some of my best friends were Swansons: sons and daugh ers of George & Neva Swanson. they had 10 children, one was my age named Frank. There was a Jackie, Carson, Fred, Yolanda (I can't remember the rest. . getting old!) Great site. Maybe you knew some of these people.
