and Archer Freeman (both Mulatto) Jenny was an American Indian,Ike an African. Jenny died at age 112.

Their Children, born in Appomatax, VA: The oldest child, a female, was Isa, Archer "Archie" Glenn
(born May 1, 1886 approx), Lloyd, Boyd, John, Leonard, Cabe, Lucy, Audrey, Jenny, and Victoria
"Zef," and a baby girl, Russie.
(The first four Johnson brothers married the four Childress sisters (pronounced Chill-dress). The
Childress sisters looked like Indians with long black straight hair. The Johnson boys were very
light skinned and looked alike. They were all from Appomatax, Va.)
A. Archie married Nannie Emma Childress (B: 9/22/1884 approx - she was two
years older than Archie). They had ten children.
B. Lloyd married Nina Childress (no children)
C. Boyd married Liza Childress (they had 12 children)
D. John married Sarah Childress (they had 14 children)
(Nannie's Mother: Mary "Big Ma" Childress (a white woman); it was said that Nannie's Father
was Dan Spencer, a black man. Dan also had a son, Dan, Jr. Big Ma had a sister named Nancy
Childress who also married a black man named Mr. Ferguson. Big Ma and Nancy were white.

11. Henry Hubbard (raised as a Johnson brother from 7 months old)
Archie and Nannie moved from Appomatax, VA to Lynchburg, VA around 1914, when Berta
was 4 years old.
