I love your Coleman Web Page! I am decended from Sir Henry Coleman, Bart.of Essex County, Maryno, England, first Coleman of our family in America. Sir Henry'married Katherine and his land was willed to his son, William, proved of record in l652. William Coleman willed his Virginia land to his brother, Richard Coleman in l665. ETC. Etc. Etc!! Most of our family lived in Caroline County, Virginia. Perhaps another Coleman of my line of descent will need information. Love to share! Again, good for you! Job well done. I've just started looking up the Coleman's in my lineage here in Toronto. My line were originaly from Ireland I believe and settled in Cookstown ON sometime in the 1820's. They were the postmasters for the village and it remained in the Coleman family for over 100 years. How did you go about finding out info... other than family recollections? Any hints? Penny the other uncle that I could not remember was Uncle George(half brother to Opa)his wife's name was Ruby they have no children he died around 1985-1986 after we moved out here I don't know if Aunt Ruby is still alive(somehow I don't think she is) if remember correctly she died before Uncle George. check that with Opa. Looking for ancestors of Nicholas Coleman of Indiana County, Pennsylvania, USA -he and some brothers came to USa, bought farmland and settled there - before American REvolution. He is buried near Indiana, Pennsylvania next to wife Jane McClelland. Have no idea of parents...Thanks Jean

You have a lot of good info on your site but its a little hard to read. Perhaps if you had a lighter background the text would show up better. A few paragraphs would make it easier too. I'm still looking in Emanuel Co., GA for Elizabeth Coleman who marr. esley Cushion Brown. Happy New Year.

Thanks for your e-mail. Doesn't look like our Colemans connect. Oh well. I thinks it's more and more likely that the family legend that we're connected to the Colemans of Coleman's Mustard is a myth. One of those things where someone jumps at any idea that there's fame of some sort in the family tree! If you don't mind a little constructive criticism, your page would be a bit easier to read if the info wasn't all in one paragraph. Maybe separate lines for each person, or something.
