THESE PAGES ARE NUMBERED
AS THEY WILL BE CHANGED BACK AND FORTH AT DIFFERENT TIMES, OR NEW ONES
WILL BE ADDED
COME
IN, SIT A SPELL, HAVE A COFFEE AND ENJOY!

Take a cup of kindness, mix it well with love
Add a lot of Patience and Faith in God above
Sprinkle very generously with Joy and Thanks
and Cheer
And you'll have lots of Angel Food to feast on
all the year
The more you give, the more you get
The more you laugh, the less you fret
The more you do unselfishly,
The more you live abundantly.
The more of everything you share,
The more you'll always have to spare
The more you love, the more you'll find
That life is good and friends are kind
For only what we give away
Enriches us from day to day
In the tiny petal of a tiny flower, that grew from a tiny
pod
Is the miracle and the mystery of all creation and God
Your chin was made for keeping up, Your hand for holding
on
Your upper lip for keeping firm, when all your luck seems
gone
Your head was made for holding high, Your heels for digging
in
With this kind of anatomy, you're in the race to win.
When Friendship's blooming - tend it
If Gloom's beginning - end it
A hand's for helping - lend it
A smile costs nothing - spend it
He sat there very comfortable, humming a little tune
While I was busy at my chores, he lazed all afternoon
Now doesn't it seem unfair to you, that he should be doing
that?
If I come back in another life, I, too, must be a cat!
I'll not willingly offend, nor be easily offended
What's amiss I'll strive to mend, and endure what can't
be mended
There was a sign upon a wall and that sign said "Wet Paint"
And every mortal that passed by - a sinner or a saint
Put out a finger, touched the wall and then they onward
sped
And as they wiped their fingertips, "They're right - it
is" they said
A little luck, a little pluck, in moments so demanding
A little hope, a little scope, for help and understanding
A little grit, a little bit of tact and toleration
A little piece of each can cease a lot of aggravation
Do not throw cold water on someone else's schemes
Throw instead a lifeline to help them with their dreams
White clouds in a clear blue sky, gardens fresh and fair
Sunny mornings, golden noons, birdsong everywhere
Nods and smiles from pleasant folk, Children sing and
shout
What a lot of things there are to be glad about!
If someone sold smiles, I'd be first on the spot
I'd spend all my money, I'd buy all the lot
Then when the wind blew, I'd toss them away
Hoping others would catch them, to brighten their day
Add a little kindness to your living day by day
Subtract the kind of worry that can constitute dismay
Divide your time by turning each frown into a smile
Multiply your efforts for a total that's worthwhile
Don't say "That's too hard to do", Just say "I'll achieve"
Don't say "I don't understand", Just say "I believe"
Dear God, the baby you brought us is awful nice and sweet
But 'cause you forgot his toofies, the poor little thing
can't eat
That's why I'm writing this letter, on purpose to let
you know
Please come and finish the baby. That's all - from little
Flo
Kind hearts are the garden, kind thoughts are the roots
Kind words are the blossom, kind deeds are the fruits
A friendly word, a kindly smile
A helpful act, and life's worthwhile
I don't think you'd want it, it's quite rough to feel
It's a tattered old thing, with little appeal
It's too shabby to use, being faded and old
But you couldn't have this, if you offered us gold
It's Grandmother's quilt, her patchwork creation
A token of love, for each generation
Just had to put this in
A language instructor was explaining to her class that
French nouns, unlike their English counterparts, are grammatically designated
as masculine or feminine. Things like "chalk" or "pencil", she described,
would have a gender association although in English these words were neutral.
Puzzled, one student raised his hand and asked, "What
gender is a computer?"
The teacher wasn't sure, so she divided the class into
two groups and asked them to decide if a computer should be masculine or
feminine.
One group was comprised of the women in the group and
the other of the men. Both groups were asked to give four reasons
for their recommendation.
The women concluded that computers should be referred
to in the masculine gender because:
1. In order to get their attention, you have to
turn them on.
2. They have a lot of data but are still clueless.
3. They are supposed to help you solve your problems,
but half the time
they ARE the problem.
4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that,
if you had waited a little
longer, you could have had a
better model.
The men, on the other hand, decided that computers should
definitely be
referred to in the feminine gender because:
1. No one but their creator understands their internal
logic.
2. The native language they use to communicate with
other computers is
incomprehensible to everybody
else.
3. Even your smallest mistakes are stored in long-term
memory for later
retrieval.
4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you
find yourself spending
half your paycheck on accessories
for it.
