My name is Pat Troiber, my Arabian farm is known as Nairobi Acres. Nairobi Acres is located in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Tomahawk is in north central Wisconsin on Highway 51.

My first Arabian, my foundation mare, was Nairobi. I purchased her in May of 1960. So you see, Arabians and I have been together for a long time, probably longer than most people reading this have been alive. Nairobi's bloodlines include crosses to Image, Raffles, Mirage, Rifage, and of course, Skowronek.

Rob's Counterpoint

I do not have a stallion at stud at the present time. My stallion, Rob's Counterpoint was 27 years old in May and I had to have him put to sleep on the anniversary of his mother's (Nairobi) birth just this year (1997). He was sired by Count Imaraff, an Imaraff son. He was the greatest "guy" I have known! He was my favorite mount, as when I would get home from a stressful day at the office, I could just jump on him bareback with just the halter and a lead rope and head out for our 400 acres of woods to calm myself down.
I have not raised any Arabians for 5 years. I have found that it is just too difficult to find the proper homes for my "babies". I used to show my Arabians, especially Nairobi, in open shows, but haven't done so for a number of years. My favorite seasons are spring and fall, when the flies and bugs aren't bad. Then I can head out for my favorite place, our wooded acreage!

At this time I own one Nairobi daughter, and 3 Nairobi granddaughters. Bint Nairobi was sired by a *Charaff son. Her 2 daughters, Desert Shalome and Bint Bint Nairobi, were sired by Black Coffee, who is now owned by Black Rose Arabians. TJ Bint Synairi was sired by Rob's Counterpoint (Count Imaraff x Nairobi) and was out of Synairi (Synbad x Nairobi).
I have an indoor riding arena, but with a full time job and 2 teenage sons (17 and 14) who are very involved in sports, I really don't have much chance to make use of it. I work for the district administrator of the Tomahawk School District, where I have worked since January of 1961. I also have Siberian Huskies, which I used to raise, show, and dogsled with during the time period of BK (before kids). I also have 2 pinto mini horse mares which I am considering selling, as I don't have the time for them that they deserve. About 5 years ago my boys were into ball python snakes, and I really enjoyed them. My husband used to spend time with me and the animals, that time period is known as BH (before Harley-Davidsons). He works for Harley Davidson here in Tomahawk and gets an employee discount of 20%, so he gets a new Harley every year.
I love all horses, and have loved them for as far back as I can remember. But once I saw the Arabian, there was no other horse for me. And once I owned Nairobi and her wonderful sons, daughters, and granddaughters, there was no other foundation mare that could compare! She was bred to National Champion Synbad twice, Midwest Champion Jaadon (sired by Gazon) twice, and Count Imaraff (sired by Imaraff) twice. She was bred to a number of other stallions also, bringing her total number of offspring to 8 colts and 3 fillies. If anyone out there has an Arabian with Nairobi in the background, PLEASE CONTACT ME!
