Special Service 1771 was acquired from Glenside Fire Co. in Montgomery County Pennsylvania, on February 19, 1997. It is a 1987 GMC Top-Kick Chassis with a Saulsbury Special Service body. 1771 is a primary response unit to almost all calls. This is due to its cascade system and the variety of equipment it carries. On board this unit are: materials for HAZMAT incidents, SCUBA diving gear, medical supplies, backboards, and vehicle rescue equipment including the Holmatro Rescue Tools.
