Much of what I have learned about writing HTML web pages is a result of reading Paul McFedries "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Creating an HTML Web Page."  If you would like to write your own web page or you're just learning, I highly recommend this book. It retails for $24.99 in the USA, but I picked mine up at a Sam's Wholesale Club for only $12.99. This is a wonderful book if you're just getting started. It is written in a simple, easy to understand format and gives lots of excellent examples. Included with the book is a cd-rom that contains some graphics and links to various programs useful in creating your own web page. There are also several tutorial type resources available on the internet that are very helpful as well.


Most of the graphics used on my web pages were obtained from the Mousepad Webpage Graphics Collection and The Coop. Other graphics sources include DeeDee's Wild & Wacky World of Looney Stuff, Cindy Cooper's Graphics Barn, Just Jayne's Graphics, Creative Insanity Graphics, and Jeff Bucchino "The Wizard of Draws." These sites offer some of the highest quality graphics I have stumbled across. Please visit my Favorite Web Sites page for links to some of these sites. A great web resource tool can be found at VRL's Imaging Machine.  This site offers some fantastic graphic effects utilities. Provide it with the URL of almost any graphic (.gif, .jpg, .bmp, .tiff), tell it what you want to do, and it does everything for you right online! Among the options are effects such as animate, noise, bevel, swirl, monochrome, rotate, solarize, oil paint and transparent.
