In Loving Memory

Christopher Johnson Lynch

June 26, 1974 - November 13, 1989

The following poem is written by my husband Jerry who adopted Chris when he was 9.

But Chris told everyone he adopted Jerry.

"CHRIS"

Dark hair and eyes of blue
A big toothy smile
When first I met you
You were small in stature
But big of heart
A true friend of nature
For all not just part
You would awake at first dawn
Grab a bowl of cereal
Get dressed and be gone
With a dog named Benji and a diamondback bike
G.I. Joe Clothes
You were off on a hike
Building your forts and dreams
In a pair of wet boots and faded blue jeans
You grew from a boy to a handsome young man
You traded your toys and then made your stand
Your roles would change from week to week
Collecting things strange or protector of the meek
You excelled in all sports from football pads to soccers umbro shorts
You gave all you had
You'd make me so proud to just watch you play
I was in those crowds
Those hot summer days
Son, you'll always be my hero
With footballs number 24 to soccers double zero
I'll always love that blue eyed lad
For you see he made me his adopted dad.

We love and miss you so much Chris. Not a day goes by that we don't think about you.

Love, Dad and Mom
