Hi, we are Richard and Eva Stern. Thank you for stopping by our web site, where you will find information about us, our wonderful toys, our placement policies, and our breeding program. Our involvment with Chihuahuas goes back to May of 1953 when, as a teenager, I found a mentor by the name of Mrs. Christine Orman, in Colorado Springs, CO. Through Mrs. Orman, I learned how to care for the little dogs, breeding, showing and obedience. I got my first Chihuahua from Mrs. Orman and thus began a journey that temporarily ended four years later when a thief broke into my apartment, while I was away, and stole my two Chihuahuas. It broke my heart and I did not take up Chihuahuas again for many years. |

My husband and I became involved in Rescue and finally the day came that we had to help our 14 year old Toy Poodle, "PJ" to the Rainbow Bridge. It left such a void in our lives and hearts that had to be filled, and that came about a few months later when Santa brought Richard a Chihuahua for Christmas. Richard and "Pet" attended their first show the next April with "Pet" taking Reserve Winners Bitch, while still a puppy, and he was hooked on showing. | |
Our interest in Japanese Chin started when we purchased a wonderful little bitch - Makami's Jamie Jean - from Mary Bransford. JJ was bred to Ch. Makami's My Deal and produced a litter of 4 beautiful pups, two of which have finished their Championships: Ch. Sterns High Stakes Delta and Ch. Sterns High Stakes Dealer. We are members of the Chihuahua Club of America, The Chihuahua Club of Oklahoma and the South Central Kansas Kennel Club. |
We have tried our very best to be selective and critical in choosing the dogs that would be the foundation for our line and we are producing some very nice puppies that mature into very nice adults. Soundness, health, type, bite, stifles, attitude, and temperament are essential in our breeding program. We are striving for that "Perfect Chihuahua", which is the dream of any conscientious breeder. And we believe, along with other breeders, that is what we will continue to do, "STRIVE". Only our best of the best is used in our Breeding Program and we do not use specimens that we feel do not contribute those qualities that would better the breed. |

We cannot conscientiously use those specimens that do not meet our standards and the standard of the breed, as set forth by the Chihuahua Club of America and endorsed by the American Kennel Club. |
