Our Pinewood Derby was held on Thursday, January 28 at Pioneer Elementary School. We tried several new things this year, many of which worked well, and some of which we intend to improve for next year. We used all three lanes of a new track. We used an electronic finish line, designed and built by Jeff Barton and Charlie Carr of Micropump. We used a computer generated race schedule, which raced each car in each lane one time. The results were projected onto a screen during the race, so everyone could follow the results. Here are the final results and some photos of the event Click on a picture to make it larger:
