New born Baby Booties
Materials: Size D (3 - 3.25 mm) crochet hook. 3ply babyweight yarn.
Chain 18 loosely
Round 1: 2 sc in second chain from hook. Sc in each of the next 15 sc. 4 sc in last sc. Continuing around, and skipping the sc just worked, sc in each of the next 15 sc. 2 sc (known as inc from now on) in next sc.
Round 2: Continuing around, sc in first st of previous round, inc in next sc, sc in each of the next 15 sc. Inc in next sc, sc in the next 2 sc, inc in next sc, sc in each of the next 15, inc in next sc, sc in each of the last 2 sc.
Round 3: Chain 1 and turn. *1 sc & 1 dc in same sc, skip next sc* repeat from * to * all around (22 little scallops). Join with slip st to beginning of row. Chain 1 turn.
Repeat last row 4 more times. Each row should increase by 1 scallop.
Instep: Chain 1, turn. Continue halfway around in same way as previous row for the count of 15 scallops (this should take you to just past the front of the bootie, halfway around.)
Crochet 2 together (hook into next sc, pull up yarn, hook into next sc, pull up yarn, yo and pull through all 3 loops on hook)
Turn. Skipping first sc, sc in each of the next 7 sc, sc 2 tog, turn.
Repeat 9 more times.
In next sc continue around with scallops (1 sc & 1 dc in same sc, skip next sc) around to the back of the bootie. Join with slip stitch to begining of row.
Eyelet row: Chain 3 turn, dc in same stitch, chain 1, skip next 2 sc, *2 dc in same sc, chain 1, skip next 2 sc* . Repeat from * to * around, join with slip st to beginning of row. Chain 1 turn.
Cuff: *1 sc & 1dc in same sc, skip next sc* continue around and join with slip st to beginning of row. Chain 1 turn.
Repeat the above row 4 more times. Break yarn and finish off.
Tie: Sc 75 loosely. Sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each sc to end. Tie off at end.
Weave through eyelets and tie in a bow at front.
