Baby Sweater

Materials: Size F crochet hook, 3 balls of
3ply baby weight yarn
Chain 54.
Row 2 - 2 dc in second ch. from hook.
2 dc in each sc across. Ch 3, turn.
Row 3 - dc in each dc across. Ch 3,
turn.
Row 4 - 9 - Repeat row 3.
Row 10 - Sc in first 10 dc spaces,
chain 10, skip next 10, sc in next 68 sc spaces, chain
10, skip next 10, sc in remaining sc spaces. Ch 1, turn.
(Armholes)
Row 11 - (Scallop pattern) *1 sc and
1 dc in same sc space, skip next sc space*. Continue from
* to * across. Ch 1 turn.
Row 12 - 23 - Repeat row 11
Ch 1, do not turn. Continue scallop pattern
up left side of sweater, last scallop in corner.
Along neckline - *ch 3, sk next 2 sc,
1 sc & 1 dc in next sc. Repeat from * to * across
neckline.
Right side - continue scallop pattern
along right side of sweater. Last scallop in corner.
Break yarn and finish off.
Sleeve Row 1 - with right side facing
and top of sweater away from you, join yarn at bottom of
arm hole. Ch 1. In same st *1 sc & 1 dc in same st,
sk next sc space* continue from * to * around. Join wih
sl st to 1st sc. Ch 1 turn.
Repeat row 1, 16 more times.
Cuff row 1 - sc 2 together (insert
hook in next st, yo & pull through, insert hook in
next st, yo & pull through, pull through all 3 loops
on hook) to end. Join with sl st to first st. Chain 1,
turn.
Row 2 - work same as row 1
Row 3 - Work in even sc around. Join
with sl st to first sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 4 - Same as row 3, but do not ch
1 and turn. Join with sl st to first sc. Break yarn and
finish off.
Work other sleeve the same
Crochet a chain of whatever length you
choose (for the tie). Whatever the length, ch 1 turn and
sc in each sc space across. Finish off at end. Weave
through the eyelets at the neckline.

This pattern is easy to alter
and make slightly larger by using a heavyer yarn.
