Below we have taken pictures of the Stake canner in action. |
For those who have not had the opportunity to can it is fast and easy and the blessings are bountiful please make arrangements to make use of the canner. It is meant for canning dry pack items such as: |
Wheat, rice, flour, oats, cereal and other grains. |
Pasta, Pancake mix and similar products |
Sugars, Baking powder and Soda etc. |
Please check with your ward representative for the items that are available for purchase through the cannery. |

Cans are filled with the product and an oxygen absorber packet is placed inside the can . A lid is then placed loosely on top of the filled can. |

 |
The Can is placed in position on the white pedestal and the Red Handle is raised locking the can in position. |

start the rotation process. |

The blue handle is then pushed away from you until it rests against the can and held in place for 3 revolutions then pulled towards you for 3 revolutions. |

The can should then be labeled immediately with the name of the contents, and the date canned. Also the approximate date of spoilage should be included for proper rotation of goods. |
