V.O. John, May 22nd, 1916 - June 11th 2000. --- Experience that made a strong impression --- My grandfather is one of the few people that made a big impression on me. It was through our regular interactions that he made this impression, so I'm describing his overall character. As a person he has a lot of respectable personality traits. He is strong-willed, caring, generous, intelligent, and overall, a very likable person. It was because of this personality he was able to take care of a large extended family and face all of the problems they had. The thing that struck me the most was that he was so optimistic. Even though he was a lawyer, he went through financial difficulties at times. He had to take care of brothers and sisters in addition to a large family of his own. Even then, my mother said, he was always cheerful and never dull. I liked his attitude towards life. No matter what the circumstances or whatever hardship they went through, he was always positive. With that kind of attitude towards life we can learn to go through the hardest of times and look forward to better days. By, Timmy John. |
