My ancestors made their home in the Applachian Mountains of southwest Virginia. This is an area of tall mountains, deep valleys and hollows, green trees, and black coal. The pace here is slow, family ties strong, neighbors like family, and old fashioned values are still practiced. There's no mall on the next block, but feeling a cool breeze from the trees or watching the rain come over the mountain and up the valley make up for that. Busy city folk laughlingly call this "Gods Country". Funny thing is that I agree and mean every word!!
