Merry
Christmas
Jesus is the Reason for the Season
"And there were in the same
country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch
over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came shone
round about
them: and they were sore afraid." Luke 2:8-9
The
First Noel the Angel Did Say
The first No-el the an-gel did say, Was to cer-tain poor
shep-herds in fields as they lay; In fields where they lay keep-ing their
sheep, On a cold win-ter's night that was so deep.
No-el, No-el, No-el, No-el, Born is the King of Is-ra-el.
"And the angel said unto them, Fear not, for, behold, I bring you good
tidings of
of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the
city of David, A Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto
you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host
praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good
will toward men." Luke 2: 10-14
It
Came upon the Midnight Clear
It came upon the mid-night clear, That glo-rious song of
old,
From an-gels bending near the earth, To touch their harps of gold;
"Peace on the earth, good will to men," From heaven's all gra-cious King.
The world in sol-emn still-ness lay, To hear the an-gels sing.
"And it came to pass, as the angels were
gone away from them into heaven,
the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and
see
this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us."
Luke 2:15
O Little
Town of Bethlehem
O little town of Beth-le-hem, How still we see thee lie!
A-bove thy deep and dream-less sleep The si-lent stars go by;
Yet in thy dark streets shin-eth The ev-er-last-ing Light;
The hopes and fears of all the years Are met in thee to-night.
"And they came with haste, and found Mary,
and Joseph, and
the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made
known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child."
Luke 2:16-17
Away
in a Manger
A-way in a man-ger, no crib for a bed, The lit-tle Lord
Je-sus laid down His sweet head; The stars in the sky looked
down where He lay, The lit-tle Lord Je-sus, a-sleep on the hay.
I would like to end this with three of my
favorite Christmas Songs.
Silent Night, Holy Night
Si-lent night, ho-ly night, All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Vir-gin Moth-er and child! Ho-ly In-fant so
ten-der and mild, Sleep in heav-en-ly peace,
Sleep in heav-en-ly peace.
Joy to the World! The Lord Is Come
Joy to the world! The Lord is come; Let earth re-ceive her King;
Let ev-ery heart pre-pare Him room,
And heaven and na-ture sing, And heaven and na-ture sing,
And heaven, and heaven and na-ture sing.
O Come, All Ye Faithful
O come, all ye faith-ful, joy-ful and tri-um-phant, O come
ye, O
come ye to Beth-le-hem! Come and be-hold Him, born the King of
an-gels! O come, let ue adore Him, O come, let us a-dore Him,
O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!
