This page is dedicated to the memory of John Bevin Bell, and to all the descendants of John, both the known families, and the ones I hope to find in the future.
My name is Claud Bell, and I am a great-grandson of John Bevin Bell. I live in Tacoma, Washington, with my wife, Suzanne, and our dog, Buddy. We also share our home with two cats, Nicolai and Spud. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that THEY share THEIR home with us! (Cat lovers will know what I mean!)
We have three sons, Richard, David, and Wayne, all three grown and with homes of their own.
Richard is married to Heike Stephanie Hoffman, with one daughter, Megan Suzanne. They live in Tacoma. David is married to Debra Brown, and lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Wayne lives in Graham, Washington, near Tacoma. He is married to LaDell Ashbaugh, with daughter Stephanie and sons Joshua and Dawson.
John Bevin Bell was born about 1812, in either Maryland or New Jersey, depending on what year census you look at, and probably, who gave the information to the census taker.
The earliest I have found him is mid-1830's, in Guernsey County, Ohio, married to Rebecca McVicker.
John and Rebecca had three children, Drusilla b 1837, Eliza Ann b 1839, and Milburn John b November 11, 1841.
Rebecca disappears from the family, presumably by death, about 1842, and in 1845, John is in Muskingum County, with the children, and marries Elizabeth McComas.John and Elizabeth have five children of their own. It is from this family that I descend.
My descendancy from John Bevin is as follows: John Bevin Bell-William Edward Bell-John Gillmore Bell-Claud Lee Bell. I do not have, and may never have, a picture of John Bevin, but I am able to include pictures of the rest of my paternal ancestry.
John and Elizabeth's children were Sarah C.,1849-1887, William Edward, Elcy E.,1853-1884,Violet, and Elmira,1858-1934.
I am working on some other web pages with more about my family and interests. I invite you to visit my home page. I hope you will visit, and enjoy.
Updated on June 29, 2003. I will be working on this page frequently, now, and invite you to check back.
