The Great Smokies
I have lived in Maine all my life. I've been married
for over 13 years to a wonderful man, Marc. He works at Bath Iron Works
shipyard full time as well as operating a computer/printing business out of our
home, MLBK Computing.
We have 3 children. Willy 22, who's talents
include are/drawing, wood working & mechanics. Bernie
20, who graduated
from a New Hampshire college, majored in computer
programming. Our daughter, Kayla, is 11 yrs. old. She keeps me busy chauffeuring
her to& fro from
cheerleading,
dancing (clogging, jazz & gymnastics)
&
softball. As well as helping run MLBK, I work part time as a
Marketing SCR in which I get to call all around the country. I love my
job!;-)
Our Extended family lives mostly in
Maine, though some have transplanted to other states. Marc's brother &
his family live in VA & my mother & stepfather, sister & her family
live in TN. We miss them all so much! I have the honor of stating
that all of my best friends I have known since grammar school; Tracy (space
bear!
I
love to write! I'd love to become published one day, hopefully in the near
future! I'm in a writer's group, RAD, which stemmed from the Christy List
and is comprised of the most talented writers you could find anywhere, myself
excluded!
Jane Eyre, Little Women & Gone With The Wind.
A couple other of my favorite authors are Debbie Macomber and Nora
Roberts.
I can't end this without mentioning my brother, Scott. Scott passed away almost 5 yrs. ago after undergoing a heart/double lung transplant at the age of 30. I believe that if he had received the operation sooner, he would have been strong enough to survive & be alive today. The only way this could have been prevented was, and is, to have people donate their organs. The cure is out there for people like Scott, whether you're "needing a liver, a kidney, a pair of lungs, or somebody's healthy heart". The cure is YOU. Don't just sign a donor card. Discuss it with your family; impress upon them your wishes now, before it's too late. If there had been an abundance of organs 5 yrs. ago, Scott wouldn't have had to wait the 3-4 yrs. for his transplant, his body would have been strong enough to keep his new heart beating. He left behind a wife and young son.
