Love Can Build a Bridge
This is a story of two girls, from completely different backgrounds, who met and became the best of friends. One of the girls was from the city area of Northwest Indiana, Gary to be exact, home to The Jackson Five, steel mills, and The Music Man. The other was a country girl, a former rodeo Queen from Butte, Montana.
The two girls met in the Pacific Northwest on beautiful Whidbey Island. They say things happen for a reason... it certainly seems so. The country girl moved into the same apartment complex as the city girl. It was the beginning of a life long friendship. That was only nine years ago, but so much has happened to these two girls since then.
They have seen many trials and tribulations....always being there for one another. There is not one thing that one would not do for the other.
Thats me in the yellow bikini, Yeppers...I am the city girl. In the pink bikini is my best friend, Pamella. I have been updating our web pages and thought it would be nice to share our story with you. So, I came up with this idea for a "Love Can Build a Bridge" page. Ya see, Pamella dedicated that song to me once...its her all time favorite song and it's playing in the background right now.
Pamella, this time the song goes out to you. *smile* When you don't feel that you have to be perfect to be accepted, when you are given the freedom to be yourself in every situation, when you can share your heart without risk of betrayal, when being together is more important than what you do...that is when you are in the presence of a friend. That is how I feel whenever I am with you.
Thank you for being my friend, for being the sister that I never had. Thank you for all the good times, the laughter, the tears, the cups of tea, the shoulder to cry on, the hugs, the smiles...the list goes on and on.. Remember to take care of yourself first and then the rest will follow. Things have a way of working themselves out. *wink*
Pamella, your best gift to me is yourself and for that I owe you my sincere gratitude.
Thank you. :)
LOVE CAN BUILD A BRIDGE
by The Judds
I'D GLADLY WALK ACROSS THE DESERT
WITH NO SHOES UPON MY FEET
TO SHARE WITH YOU THE LAST BITE OF BREAD I HAD TO EAT
I WOULD SWIM OUT TO SAVE YOU
IN YOUR SEA OF BROKEN DREAMS
WHEN ALL YOUR HOPES ARE SINKING
LET ME SHOW YOU WHAT LOVE MEANS
LOVE CAN BUILD A BRIDGE
BETWEEN YOUR HEART AND MINE
LOVE CAN BUILD A BRIDGE
DON'T YOU THINK IT'S TIME
DON'T YOU THINK IT'S TIME
I WOULD WHISPER LOVE SO LOUDLY
EVERY HEART WOULD UNDERSTAND
THAT LOVE AND ONLY LOVE CAN JOIN THE TRIBES OF MAN
I WOULD GIVE MY HEART'S DESIRE SO THAT YOU MIGHT SEE
THE FIRST STEP IS TO REALIZE
THAT IT ALL BEGINS WITH YOU AND ME
WHEN WE STAND TOGETHER, OH IT'S OUR FINEST HOUR
WE CAN DO ANYTHING, ANYTHING
IF WE KEEP BELIEVING IN THE POWER OF LOVE
IT'S OUR FINEST HOUR
WE CAN DO ANYTHING, ANYTHING
"My friend is not perfect-- no more than I-- and so we suit each other admirably." -Alexander Pope
A FRIEND by Diana Mitev
(Pamella sent this poem to me)
A friend is like a flower,
a rose to be exact,
Or maybe like a brand new gate
that never comes unlatched.
A friend is like an owl,
both beautiful and wise.
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
whose spirit never dies.
A friend is like those blades of grass
you can never mow,
standing straight, tall, and proud
in a perfect little row.
A friend is like a heart that goes
strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world
if we didn't have a friend.
A Friend Like You
by Anonymous
There's lots of things
With which I'm blessed,
My problems have been few,
But of all, this one's the best:
To have a friend like you.
In times of trouble
Friends will say,
"Just ask, I'll help you through it."
But you don't wait for me to ask,
You just get up and do it!
And I can think
of nothing more
That I could wisely do,
Than know a friend,
And be a friend,
And have a friend like you.
Many people will walk in and out of your life,
but only true friends will leave footprints in your .

If you have a friend that you havent told lately how much you care about them...do it NOW! There is no time like the present to express your gratitude to the people who mean the most in your life. Once you tell someone how special they are to you, they will in turn express their gratitude to someone else. Then you will see how love can truly build a bridge.
