the Kids Room... |

Kids are hard to please. My two year old is a choo-choo fanatic and my four year old wants to be the next Batman. That wouldn't be such a problem if they didn't share the same room. How do you design a room that is pleasing to the eye and yet satisfy's the ever changing interest of the kids? |

PRIMARY COLORS |

|
I decided that I was tired of spending the money for new bedding and the like everytime a new Disney movie came out. My solution was to make my boys room predominately primary colors. The only thing I have to do when my kids express an interest in a new character is buy the pillow cases. It turns out to be more cost effective and they seem satisfied. But what do we do about the walls. A childs room needs to be joyful and bright. I have found that wall stickups are the answer. They are not permanent yet they can endure countless sticking and resticking. A corkboard is a great place to show off your childs latest artwork. If you are going to hang a coatrack, remember to keep it low enough that your child can put his or her own coat away. Oh, and the toybox...Have you priced one lately? I chose to use the big Rubbermaid storage container with the flip tops. They come in a wide variety of colors and hold a lot of toys. You're welcome to view some snapshots we have taken of our sons room. |

We were fortunate enough to have a spare bedroom in our house and instead of using it for a den or office...We decided to turn it into a preschool atmosphere. I am a stay at home mom trying to prepare my four year old for kindergarten and with some bright colors and a little imagination my husband and I are working on making it look like a class room. (Pictures of this effort will be available soon) |
