The newlyweds: Lynn & Darren

Lynn Humphreys and Darren Roach were married on October 10 in Santa Barbara. Here is a copy of their invitation. It's a painting of the courthouse by Linda Ryan, a Santa Barbara artist.

The night before the wedding, they had a rehearsal and picnic in a beautiful park across from the beach. Texas would be proud - they had ribs, chicken, sausage, and yummy side dishes. Lynn and Darren had beach balls made with their names on them! It was a cute idea and a big hit with the kids at the picnic.

Before the ceremony, we went to Lynn's hotel to watch her being photographed. She was BEAUTIFUL bride! She also stayed calm and happy throughout the whole day!

Lynn and Darren were married in the Mural Room in the courthouse. The murals were painted in 1928 and they show important events in the history of Santa Barbara. It is a breathtaking room!

Lynn's muses: Elektra, Rebecca, and Beth.

The ceremony was performed by Lynn's mentor and friend, Clark Burnham. I read "The Prophet" and another friend, Caroline, read "The Art of Marriage." You can read them here.

Here are Lynn and Darren dancing their first dance and later, cutting their cake. It was topped with a snowglobe! Considering that they have hundreds of snowglobes, it was the perfect touch for their cake.

There were tiny bottles of bubbles at each place setting. Here's Rich dancing while Rebecca blows bubbles.

Best wishes to Darren and Lynn! Now that they are married, how long will it take for some of their habits to rub off on each other? Any day now, we'll find out that Darren pushes the snooze alarm every 9 minutes for an hour and that Lynn orders exercise equipment from TV infomercials. Ha ha!
