We arrived in Santa Barbara on October 8. In keeping with our travel theme of the summer, we arrived to record high heat - 96 degrees!
The main purpose of our visit was to attend the wedding of Lynn and Darren. I also got to have a 10-year UVA reunion with Lynn, Rebecca, and Elektra! Rich and I stayed at The Cabrillo Inn, a spacious motel right on East Beach. It was fabulous to wake up and walk right out to the beach!

Rebecca and I played in the waves while Rich stood on the shore taking our pictures. The water was cold but I did go all the way in. Ok...on another day, I got tumbled by a wave, lost my sunglasses, and ended up covered in sand!
Rich liked watching the birds. It was a weekend of firsts for him! He "played" in waves (he got in the water up to his knees) and he ate CRAB!
After Lynn and Darren's rehearsal picnic, Rich, Rebecca, and I rode around on a 4-wheeled "bike." Rich and Rebecca took turns driving while I screamed at my impending death by ejection from the bike. I admit it...neither actually drove us off the path into traffic, but we CAME CLOSE!

The whole weekend was wonderful. I can see why it's such a special city for Lynn and Darren.
