Rich's mom Fleurette came to visit on Sept. 18. We have been having a lot of fun! She is teaching me to knit, so in return, I am putting her on the internet. Here we are, displaying a dishcloth that I knitted.
She was born and raised in Montreal, and has lived there for most of her life.
She speaks both French and English and even does crossword puzzles in both languages.
She has 6 sons and 10 grandchildren. Her grandchildren's names are Paul, Lisa, Sophie, Harley, Natalie, Chris, Dan, Jackie, Nikki, and Meagan. Here is a picture of her with her sons. In order from left to right, they are John, Pierre (married to Heather), Louis (married to Sue), Rich (married to Beth), Ernie (married to Marla), and Ben (married to Barb).
Her favorite animals are frogs, but she doesn't like to touch them. She also doesn't like to touch our cats, but they think that she's playing with them when she is knitting. They try to grab the yarn with their paws!
She likes to travel and has been to Jamaica, Hawaii, Vancouver, and France. She told me that her favorite place to visit was Colorado. Hmm...that's where Rich and I got married. Coincidence!? Ha ha!
She is a great cook! The whole family clamors for her meat pies, her farce, and her many kinds of cookies.
She is very talented with many sorts of crafts. She learned to knit when she was 10 years old. The nuns taught it in school! She sewed clothes for herself and her family for many years, including her entire wedding trousseau.
Her other hobbies include reading, visiting with her sisters and brothers, playing cards, and raising African violets.
She is a great mom and a super mother-in-law!
