They lived Kimble County, Texas 1870's. Joseph became County Judge March 11, 1878. He resigned June 11, 1878 to move. They returned to Kimble Co. a few months later. In 1884 they moved, by covered wagon, to New Mexico, near Deming. They lived New Mexico and Arizona for about 6 years where Joseph worked for the railroad. They then moved, by train, to Larado, Texas where Joseph was a construction foreman. They returned to Kimble Co. in 1904. Joseph homesteaded land in Kimble Co. He worked for Texas Highway Dept. until July, 1927, then McDonald Chevrolet Co. until 1932 as bookkeeper. Jan. 1, 1933 he became County & District Clerk. He served 4 terms, implemented many improvements in the record keeping until 1940. He then worked for Junction ISD as Tax Assessor-Collector and Business Manager for 25 years. Also, 1940, established General Insurance and Land Title Business. He sold this business in 1976. Served as Director Chamber of Commerce, President of Rotary Club, served Gas Rationing Board in World War II, Chairman of the Kimble Co.
