The Crousers in California

The Reverend William E. Crouser
and his descendants

There have been a couple of Crouser families in California. The Reverend William Crouser, a Lutheran pastor, and his wife, J. Belle Young, arrived in about 1902 with their infant son, Clarence, and settled in San Jose. At various times they lived briefly in San Francisco and Oakland, but for the most part, they lived in San Jose.

Their son Clarence Crouser became a Lutheran pastor and served parishes in Sacramento, Los Angeles, and San Jose, and was a chaplain in the US Navy during WWII. He has a few descendants still living in the San Jose area and in southern California.
