I've been homeschooling for 6 years and really feel blessed to be able to do so. Hubby and I have 5 children.All were homeschooled until last year. My 2 oldest kids are now seniors in our public high school. Our son had expressed an interest in joining on of the military branches. I called around and got alot of negative feedback from Army and Air Force recruiters. I was told that in order to enlist in the military, a child coming from homeschooling would have to have a certain amount of college credits. was told that homeschooled kids were viewed as an equivalent of a high school dropout! "Not fair", I said, "Totally unacceptable"!! But I was told that's just how it is. So when I read that your son had enlisted in the military right after receiving a diploma from homeschooling.....well, I sure wish I pursued this issue! Thanks for taking the time to read this.
