I find myself here because I want to be able to encourage people... One of the things that has "pushed me out of the nest" and onto this page has been the birth of our youngest child, our latest blessing, Noah. He was born with an extra 21st chromosome, which fits him right in with the 21st century! This extra chromosome puts him in the company of many very special people who have what has come to be known as Down Syndrome. I never really knew much about it before Noah was born. Now I find that I'm in a new school! I am learning daily things I never would have known, had the circumstances been different.

I just want you to know, whoever you are, and especially if you have, or are about to give birth to, a child with D.S., that there are wonderful things in store for you! This thing the world may call a "mishap" or a "quantitative chromosomal accident" is NOT a tragedy!

I want to share with you some writings from my journal which was begun shortly after Noah was born. Before you read, you may want to know that I am a Christian woman, whose life has been completely changed by the love, grace, and power of Jesus Christ. This doesn't make me "weird". This only enables me to humbly give honour where it's due. I know that by myself I'm nothing, but that with Christ in me I can do all things, including raising Noah to be the man God has created and called him to be!
