THE PUZZLE PIECE

Bright, Colorful, So many sides, Surely it must fit somewhere. The Hopeful Piece looked For it’s place in the puzzle – it searched. “Maybe here?” “No, here?” “Oh where is my place?” thought The Sad Piece. It kept looking. It made friends with other pieces. But it’s own puzzle was Where- And even If – It fit anywhere. Soon, Too soon, The Sad Piece grew discouraged. There was nowhere it fit. And so… The garbage bin it found to be the only place it could fit. Now the other pieces knew better. And the giant hole in the puzzle, They mourn. No other piece will ever fill That huge gap. And the puzzle Will never be complete.
