Descendants of Antoine OCHA

Antoine OCHA was born in Canada in 1812. The only thing we know about his parents are two censuses that have conflicting information, one says they were born in Canada and another says they were from France.

Most of the information as far as dates and places that happened in Antoine's life were found in his son Joseph's Civil War Pension Files. Joseph died during the civil war and Antoine was aged and sick and applied for and received a pension for Joseph's service.

Antoine and his wives produced brave and courageous children who served their country, and have performed their duties within their service to the point of receiving recognition for it in newspapers of the day and books that were written. One son is still being written about today although he died in 1912 while in the US Life Saving Service.

Sons Frank and Albert H. were both in the US Life Saving Service and some of their sons also served when the service changed to US Coast Gaurd in 1915. If you would like to read more about the US Life Savers and US Coast Gaurd please visit my pages
