Great website!! I too, am a descendant of Jaques James. His son John Peter b. 28 Oct 1773 starts my line. Then George Henry b. 26 May 1816 (this family all moved to Britt, Iowa except my gg grandfather Thomas Samuel b. 6 June 1845). He married Effie MacKinnon and died in Sydney. I know nothing about her family. My grandma was Florence Catherine b. 22 Apr 1874 m. Richard Bernard Gibbons. They moved to Vancouver, BC before 1911. They had 10 children all born in Sydney, except the two youngest, my dad Robert Emmett Gibbons and Charles. I grew up in Kimberley BC on family stories from Cape Breton. Although I have never been, I feel as if I never left! My aunts Mary & Susan kept in touch with family back there but since Mary's passing and Sue's age (91) it seems to have been lost. I was told by my mother I have the same nose as a couple of the pictures on this site. My grandmothers maiden name is Nell Boutilier. Her fathers name was James and her mother Minnie Cooper.
