My name is Lynn.
I live with my cat named Smokie. I have not included a picture of Smokie as he looks just like Misty.

Shadow and Misty are no longer with me. Shadow was the best cat any owner could ever hope to have as he was very smart and loving.
I worked full time for the 
U.S.P.S as a letter carrier. But am now retired since 2004.
My hobbies are Genealogy, computers, cross stitch and furniture refinishing.
This is my daughter, Marie. She lives in Pinckney, MI with 2 roommates, 2 dogs and 2 cats. She is an artist, specializing in graphite drawings of animals. You can see her work at

My son Rick, lives in Wisconsin. He is divorced and has two beautiful sons.
In 1961 I gave my son, Rick, up for adoption, and found him the summer of 1997. When we finally had the chance to meet, we could not stop staring at each other, smiling, and hugging. It was a wonderful experience. I had only seen him once after his birth. It was at the hospital. If it had not been for my mother asking me if I had seen him, I would not have seen the little bundle with the tossle of black hair that was sound asleep in his hospital bassinet on the other side of the window.
It was no wonder I couldn't stop staring at him. This filled a large hole that I'd felt for such a long time.
I am in the process of trying to find his birth-father or members of his family. I lost contact with him after his son was born. I can only hope that he is still alive, although I have not been able to locate him in *any* databases.
There have been some problems for both my son and me to overcome with the reunion, but things on a whole are working out very well. I am very lucky to have a son who has tried to understand just why I had to give him up. He loves me for the life that I gave to him, and I am very happy that he is so happy with his life. His has two wonderful parents, whom Rick introduced me to at a picnic at his home. There were tense moments as we checked each other out, but I believe that they have accepted me, and the fact that I am not around to replace them. I only ask that I be allowed to share in his life.
I am a member of A.I.M. of Hazel Park, MI, which is the Adoption Identity Movement. It was because of their active support and encouragement that I did go ahead with my search. It was not easy. My family was wary of the outcome. I was afraid, but there are times in your life when you just have to do what you have to do. I hope to help A.I.M. get all of their data into a computer database. so that we can make even more matches and the resulting reunions. I also want to encourage anyone who is looking for an adoptee, birth-parent, adoptive-parent, or is a sibling of a known adoptee to join a group near you. They will help you to start your search and give you many ideas on how to find this person. Fees are usually nominal.
