HISTORY OF OTTAWA CHAPTER

The original Ottawawa Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution was organized in August 1906 with sixteen members. The new chapter used the Ottawawa name which means, in Indian, "to trade." In the fifty-five years that it was in existence, the chapter did many things to further the work of the DAR. The Ottawa Chapter of the DAR was re-organized June 9, 1977, in the Kensington Room of the Fogcutter Restaurant, Port Huron, Michigan.
