In my time with the military, I discovered an amazing truth: People that are afraid of something will lash out at that something trying to destroy it without gaining any knowledge of what they fear.
I guess the people that fear guns are the same people, or the children of those people, that ran to Canada, rather than face their responsibility to stand up for THEIR country. |
Hell no, I do not feel that we should have been in Vietnam, but I was in the military, I made a commitment and I believe in my country. A commitment is a bond, a promise. If we break our commitments we are without honor. How can we expect anyone to respect us if we are unable to respect ourselves? |
I will fight for America and damn anyone that tries to bring her down. No, I am not a militia member. I am an American that is getting tired of losing everything that I have fought for. I don't think that this is so radical. America was founded by people that refused to be pushed around. |
Our founding fathers and Veterans have fought and died so that you and I would have the right to think what we wanted. They did not say that we are founding this country so that the persons with the most money or the biggest mouths will rule. |
The American people decide who manages our country. If they do a poor job, they get voted out. If they make a mockery of the job they get impeached. We have seen both scenarios lately. |
As
a veteran, I put my life on the line to insure that my children and my
children's children would have the rights and freedoms of this great country. I
will not sit idly by and watch as this country is slowly dragged under. It is
time for all Americans to stop and smell the B.S..
Get involved in your local government. Let your mayor, governor, city council member, state and federal representative and senators know you are there to support him/her, but you will be watching to make sure YOUR rights are being protected. Let your state and federal representatives know the way you feel. |
For to long time now the majority of America has sat back and let the other guy be their voice. Stand up and be your own voice. Don't let the elected officials believe that you don't matter. |
If you support an issue, let them know. If you oppose an issue let them know that as well. Let's take control of our country back. |
Stop letting these two-faced talk show host/hostess dictate what you think. Use your God given brain to think for yourself and lets tear down these ivory towers these self created idols have built. They are just people like you and me. They are no more intelligent or clairvoyant than John Lennon or Kermit the Frog. |
The majority of people that are against guns are against an idea. They find it offensive for anyone to be able to defend themselves against all enemies foreign and domestic. |

This includes the media. Yes Mr. Rather, you are an enemy of the United States of America. You continually feed the American people misinformation. One of the first things I was taught about being a journalist was to be objective, report the NEWS, don't make it up as you go, don't report what you think, only the facts and be sure to report ALL of the facts. Either you have become an institution unto yourself or you have gotten lazy and don't feel you have to research your material anymore. Your are a disgrace to the profession of all journalists. The election is a great example. I wonder which candidate Mr. Rather was pulling for. Who did he "report" as the winner of Florida before the polls closed? Who got instant recognition for any state he did win and who was delayed? Which journalist aired a TV program about guns, but forgot to follow his basic journalistic integrity. I certainly hope your network charged you for airing that pack of half truths. It obviously was a statement on your part. |
How about John Alter and his approach of giving half truths as in his June 29, 2001 article about Watch out for this Republican. He flat out shows that he quotes research without reading the quoted material. How can you call this gun research shoddy. If you don't like guns, great, that is your right. But quit lying to America about your beliefs. Write the facts, not your fantasies, that is what you are paid for. Shame on you. A lazy journalist is a black mark on journalism. | |||||||
Then of course you will find people that say we should not be allowed to kill wild animals. Obviously the majority of these people look at America's sportsmen as mass murderers. |
As a whole we sportsmen do more to protect our environment than we do to hurt it. I will agree that there is an element of scum that cultivates herds of wildlife for profit. |
Of course if these bleeding hearts would stop buying exotic dinners at their ritzy restaurants, stop buying those 'special' art pieces, there would be no call for the poached game animals. Who has had a buffalo burger or an elk steak? When you go out into the wild and hunt down your game, legally, what is wrong with enjoying a great meal. |
When you slaughter animals to cultivate their parts and pieces, you should be prosecuted. Better yet, let the sportsmen and women develope a tribunal to deal with these rapists, murderers or as they are more commonly known, poachers. |
