I am extremely proud to be a Canadian. As a teenager, I jumped on the "Ugly American" bandwagon. I was easily offended by the lack of Canadian knowledge that Americans seemed to possess. NO, we don't live in igloos; NO, our totem poles don't grow that way; NO, our snow is not flavoured; NO, our flag doesn't come in other colours...I could continue, but I won't.

As I matured, (hmmm? - the jury is still out on that one) I learned to enjoy the diversity of our two countries. So close together, yet so far apart. The web has offered me the opportunity to really get to know the American people. I like the people I've met. As Canadians, we are quiet, unassuming and very low-keyed when it comes to showing our patriotism. (I admit to being envious of the over-the-top American displays sometimes) The web is full of other Canadians, just like me, who want to teach the world that WE ARE HERE! Are you Canadian?
