Orange endsheets were used from the early 1930s to the late 1950s. (Before that, the endsheets were plain white.) |
Brown multi-scene endsheets were introduced in the late 1950s. |
White multi-scene endsheets, containing the same scenes as the brown endsheets, were introduced on new books from the early 1960s on. Reprints of pre-1960s editions kept the brown endsheets until revised editions were released. |
Oval portrait endsheets were introduced in 1979. |
With the introduction of the laminated plastic "flashlight" cover in 1987, Grosset & Dunlap came full circle, using plain white endsheets once again.
