Red House Tavern

The Red House Tavern still stands in Howard County Maryland and is believed to be one of the oldest surviving structures. Possibly constructed about 1750 it was built on the land owned by Basil Poole I.
It was on the main route between Washington DC and Fredericksburg MD and was a main stopping point for all who traveled this way. (I am not saying that George Washington slept there but he could have.)
