such as birth, death and marriage records have not been

3. THOMAS FRANKLIN GOFF3 SR. (CHARLES2 GOFF, ASA1) was born November 22, 1828
in So. Bristol, N.Y. Ontario Co., and died February 06, 1915 in Morland, Kansas.
He married EMILY JANE CHAPMAN May 19, 1850.

OBITUARY PUBLISHED IN THE HILL CITY NEWSPAPER FEBRUARY 9th, 1915
T.F. GOFF SR. PASSES AWAY
T. F. Goff Sr. died at his home in Gettysburg township, on Saturday eve, Feb 6th,
at 11 o'clock. Funeral services were held in Morland Monday afternoon at the Methodist
church, conducted by R. A. Collins, assisted by Rev. Davis. Interment was made in the
Morland cemetery.The deceased was born in the state of New York, in 1828, being
86 years, 2 months and 15 days old. Mr. Goff was one of the earliest settlers in
Graham county, and was one of the first merchants in Hill City, dating back 37 years
ago. His store building consisted of a combination residence and business house,
of the then popular material of sod. He handled everything from a needle to the popular
proprietary medicines, barks and herbs. His wife preceeded him in death in 1892. There
were born to this union 14 children, seven of which are alive and are living in this
county. The deceased was a well informed man, easy of conversation and a man of
good judgement and pronounced integrity. We extend deepest sympathy to the
bereaved relatives.

was born August 04, 1859 in Chatfield, Minnesota Fairmont, and died June 07, 1946
in Colby, Kansas Hill City. He married CLARA EMMA COLE May 18, 1876 in
Chatfield, Minnesota, daughter of JOHN COLE and KATHERINE STRAINER.

OBITUARY
Thomas Franklin Goff
Thomas Franklin Goff, son of Thomas and Clara Goff (should read Emily Jane Goff)
was born at Chatfield, Minnesota, August 4, 1859, and passed away in the St. Thomas
hospital at Colby, Kansas on June 7, 1946, at the age of 86 years , 10 months and 3
days. He was united in marriage to Clara Emma Cole on May 18, 1876 at Chatfield,
Minnesota. To this union fourteen children were born, four of them preceding him
in death. The family moved to Kansas in 1884 and homesteaded near Morland,
later moving to Millbrook, then to Hill City, where they lived until the home was
broken four years ago by the death of his wife. He then spent one year at Morland
and the last three years of this life was spent at Gen, Kansas, with his daughter,
Marian. He was a faithful husband and living father and will be missed by relatives
and friends. He leaves to mourn his passing, six sons and four daughters: William
of San Francisco, California; Asa of Hill City; Jay of Los Angeles, California; Orange
of Crieg, Colorado; Hobart of Hill City; Stephen of Los Bonas, California; Mrs. Myrtle
Jenkins of Havre, Montana; Mrs, Jane Cochran of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Marion
Webb of Gem; Mrs. Nellie Kohart of Penokee; and one brother, John, of California.
There are 32 grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services
were held Wednesday with Miss Crown and Miss Milner in charge. Interment was
made in the Hill City Cemetery.
We will sadly miss you father.
As you've left this world behind.
And the tender care you gave us,
Given with loving hands so kind.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Clara Emma Goff
Clara Emma Cole, daughter of John and Katheryn Cole, was born at Iowa
(should say PA), June 23, 1860, and passed away at teh family home in Hill City,
Kansas, August 29, 1942, at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 6 days. She was
united in marriage to Thomas Franklin Goff, May 18, 1876, at Chatfield, Minnesota.
To this union 14 children were born, four of them preceding their mother in death.
The family moved to Kansas 58 years ago, and homesteaded near Morland. Later
they moved to Millbrook, then to Hill City. Mrs. Goff united with the First Baptist
church of Hill City. She was a faithful wife and loving mother, and she will be greatly
missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held in Hill City Presbyterian church
at two o'clock on the afternoon of September 3, with the pastor, Rev. C.H. Harrell,
in charge; with Mrs. Hazel Lindley as pianist; Mrs. Helen Thompson and Mrs. Ada
Vesper sang comforting gospel hymns. The pall bearers were Harry Lindley, John Welty,
William Boothe, Les Cary, Berry Brant and R.H. Odle. Interment was made in Hill City
cemetery. The surviving relatives are the husband, Thomas F. Goff of the home, and six
sons: Will of San Francisco, California; Asa of Hill City; jay of Los Angeles, California;
Orange, somewhere in foreign service; Hobart of Morland; and Stephen of Hill City.
There are four daughters: Mrs. Myrtle Jenkins of Havre, Montana; Mrs. Jane Cochran
of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Marion Webb of Gem, Kansas; and Mrs. Nellie Kohart
of Penokee. There are 32 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Just spreading happiness.
No well-known name, no wide acclaim

A life spent---being mother."

and IDA SHIVELY.
Nellie Goff and Everett Kohart were my husband's grandparents.
