Remember the Lord never gives you more than you can handle, trust in the Lord.

I come to the garden alone
while the dew is still on the roses;
and the voice I hear, falling on my ear,
the Son of God discloses.
and He walks with me,
and He talks with me,
and He tells me I am his own,
and the joy we share as we tarry there,
no other has ever know.
He speaks, and the sound of his voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing;
and the molody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.
and He walks with me,
and He talks with me,
and He tells me I am his own,
and the joy we share as we tarry there
no other has ever known.
I was a very small child when I first heard it and it was the starting point of my Christian experience. I hope the words bring as much peace to you as they still do to me.
Once there was a little girl who was very lonely. She didn't have
any brothers or sisters and her parents were away from home often.
She was looked after by a very kind neighbor, Miss Lillian. One day
the littel girl was looking through a drawer and found a very old
book. It was dark brown leather, with a gold clasp that held it
closed. It had very tiny print and a written date on the inside
cover said 1888. She took the book to Miss Lillian and asked her
to read something to her. Miss Lillian opened the book and read:
The little girl asked Miss Lillian where the House of the Lord was and Miss Lillian told her she wasn't sure. Then the little girl asked her what was in the back of the book. Miss Lillian said it was about a man named Jesus, but she didn't know much about him. The little girl said she would like to know more and left for the day.
Miss Lillian thought about what the little girl wanted and although she was very shy and unsure of herself she went through the neighborhood to find someone who could help her friend. She found a family across the street that said they would take the little girl to church with them if her mother said it was permissible.
I was that little girl and the church is where I first heard In The Garden. Why is this story so special? The year was 1943 and Miss Lillian was from Germany, her family was Jewish, and only Miss Lillian, her husband, and daughter were to survive the war.
My friend, it doesn't matter who you are; if this beautiful soul, who was not a Christian, could bring a small child to the Lord what more can we as Christians do? Your faith is so important why not share it with others today?
Bible based stories are those stories that have a Bibical background
in truth. They can have characters that you can read about in the
Bible or characters that are a part of the background of the Bible
story. There will be ongoing stories here of Arron and his sister
Mariam as they and their parents become new Christians after hearing
Jesus speak on many occasions. Aaron and his sister were called to
Jesus' side for a blessing, they saw healings, and other miracles.
Their father was present when the joy of Pentecost came and he
was blessed by the Holy Spirit. The stories will change on a regular
basis and I hope you will return often to read them.
Biblical Archaeology is the study of the Middle East and the areas of the Bible. Many interesting sites have been uncovered and insites on the life of the people of the Bible have come to light. Join us in learning what has been found and what is still there to be uncovered.
Hope you enjoy them and come back to The Woodland Chapel soon.

The memorial Book says: 'To several generations of worshippers at Christ Church, this window has been a favorite. It tells in glowing colors the story of Jesus and the children he called to his side. It was given in memory of Thomas S. Wells, one of the pioneers of Canon City and Christ Church. He was one of the earliest of the senior wardens'.
Thomas Wells and his brother, my Greatgrandfather, traveled to Colorado in 1860 with oxen and a wagon to seek their fortune in the gold fields. They became well known and well thought of Colorado pioneers.
