Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate. Psalm 127:3-5

John Michael

April 1999, playing in the rain with brothers.

John Michael is growing up!
John Michael is called Jikel at home. He spends most of his days trying to keep up with his big brothers. Markie and Jikel have always been close. Winter 98-99, when Markie was 3-3.5 and Jikel was 20mo-30mo their motto was "Mah-kie do it, Mi-cah do it!" However, Markie hit a developmental growth spurt over the summer 99 that threatened to leave Jikel in the dust momentarily. But he is hitting his own growth spurt now and catching up again. Jikel dotes on his little sister and helps Mommy take good care of her.

He was no longer the baby of the family when we brought Bethany home, and his first reaction to this was not totally expected:

This I think he's about 9 mos old.

John Michael Jones, born 1/16/97, 6 lbs, 19 inches long
