There are some good pubs in Twyford and the surrounding area. They are

The Royal Oak. This changed hands in December 99 and is now run by Dave (the chef) and John (the barman). It's now open all day on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

During the weekend a lot of people tend to go into Reading. Some good pubs there are:
The Square (good atmosphere and excellent cocktails but a bit expensive)
Yate's (also pretty busy, sort of club / pub, good garden for the summer)

Bar Oz (Australian Theme Pub, young crowd)
Edwards (Quite smart, slightly older)
Old Society
Muzzwell's (has a late license)
Newt & Cucumber
Three Guinea's (By the Station, a good meeting place)

There are several good clubs in the town's local to Twyford. Some of these are
Level One (very busy over the weekends, but the best club in Reading)
Utopia in Reading. (Fridays is 70's night!)
RG1's in Reading. Thursday night is student night (very cheap).
Nue Val Bones. (For the younger crowd!)
Stallones in Henley.
Sparkes in Henley.
Purple Turtle is a excellent venue for live music
Alleycat Live is also another venue for live music and has recording studio's.
There are several events which go on in and around Twyford every year. The biggest being the Reading Festival followed by the Royal Henley Regatta. Others events are the Wargrave Festival and Regatta, Bonfire Night and Summer Fair and Donkey Derby.

Lands End Pub. Although a little way out of Twyford this has been reccomended as having good food. Contact the landlords Jamie and Tracey on 0118 9340700.
La Fontana (good Italian Restaurant by the Cross roads in the old Kings Arms pub). This has been recomended by several people as a good reasonable place to eat.
