A spiritual message
from my beloved friend in
Heaven.
Death is nothing at
all. I have only slipped away into the next
room. I am still I, and you are still
you. Whatever we were to each other, that we
still are.
Call me by my old familiar
name, speak to me in the easy way which you
always use. Put no difference in your tone,
wear no forced air of solemnity or
sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the
little jokes we enjoyed together. Pray,
smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my
name be ever the household word that it always
was, let it be spoken without effect, without
the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means
all that it ever meant. It is the same as it
ever was; there is unbroken continuity. Why
should I be out of mind because I am out of
sight?
I am waiting for you, for an
interval, somewhere very near, just round the
corner.
All is
well.

Excerpts from a
letter from a special cyberfriend in response
to the loss of my lifelong best
friend.
Oh Paula, I am so
sorry about your loss. I do not know what to say
to you. That is so sad. So hard when you lose a
friend like that. I just do not know how to ease
your severe pain. The only thing I can do is
pray for you and Jon, and all who cared for her.
But there is something that happened to me as a
child that might be comforting to
you.
When I was a kid about 11 years old,
JFK was killed. I could not understand why God
would let that happen to him. I had a teacher at
the time who tried to help with the pain. This
is what Libby told me.
She said "Go find
a field that is full of flowers. All colors and
kinds, and pick the ones you like." I said ok,
but how does that help? And she responded,
"Would you pick the worn or dead or broken
flowers or would you pick only the best and the
prettiest?" I immediately said I would pick the
prettiest and the best. She said "That is what
God did with JKF..He took the best to be with
him..."
Maybe
that is why he picked your friend. He needed a
good friend and thought she would be the best.
Maybe he needed a special angel..I don't know..I
just know that this has always helped me. I am
really sorry you are hurting so much. I wish I
could help..I am here if you need
me.
Love
