"Check it out"

Cancun, Mexico

We enjoyed a fabulous week in Cancun, during October 1997 with Don and Linda, John and Dee, Bob and Linda, Terry and Faye, Kevin and Sherie, Jeff and Chris, Charlie and Marion, and Tom and Brenda. It was a fantastic all-inclusive vacation at Blue Bay Village. We sailed on a great catamaran, the Balom, over to Isla Mujeres and we went on jet skis on the Jungle Tour for some great snorkeling. Many of the group visited such night spots as Senor Frogs, Hard Rock Cafe, Fat Tuesdays, Perico's, Casablanca, and the like.
The Blue Bay Village had wonderful beaches and pools, excellent food and drinks, and an outstanding staff, especially Lisa and Enrique. You can call 1-800-BLUEBAY if you're interested. By the way, we went to Blue Bay Papagayo Village in Costa Rica in February 1999 and had a very nice time. Not as much "party" atmosphere as Cancun, but a relaxing vacation for sure. Some of us visited the island of Cozumel in February 2000 (see below) and the whole group is booked for Cancun again in October 2000.

Our group gathers for a picture just before sailing to Isla Mujeres on the Catamaran 'Balom'.

Would you believe we're reconstructing a Mayan temple?

February 2000 - Cozumel

Cozumel, a small island off the coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, is a great place to relax, fish, snorkel, or scuba dive. The weather was very comfortable this time of the year. There are a handful of good quality hotels and single homes to rent are available. We used Apple Vacations for our trip, but there are many ways to get there.
If you want to get a lot of good, up-to-date information, check out this Cozumel website.

San Miguel, the port town, a great town for shopping, strolling, and relaxing at sidewalk cafes.

Diving and snorkeling at Cozumel was fantastic!

We stayed at the Reef Club Isla. It had one of the longest beaches on the island. Bet you're wondering how we took this snapshot.

Plenty of fish right off our beach!

A lone Sergeant Major.

Dan gives two thumbs up at the Palancar Reef.

Karen wades into the surf and prepares to snorkel.

Sandy and I by the main pool.

With our new friends from England, Jo and Lee.

Do you believe that sign?

Is Dan contemplating a nap?

From our patio. We really lucked out on the room, eh?

This was a typical sunset!

Just another tequila sunset!

And back to this!
